Charles Clair Wishart, 87, of Warren, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Community Skilled Health Care Centre. He was born August 26, 1922 in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, a son of the late James E. Wishart, Sr. and the late Florence Elizabeth Hogue Wishart.
He worked for the Warren Tribune for 18 years & General Motors for 22 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. During his military career, he was awarded the Purple Heart, a silver star & a bronze star for his heroism in action.
Charles was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the Old Erie Lodge #3 for 65 years.
Surviving are his wife, Yvonne Wishart of Warren, OH, whom he married on August 26, 1976; sons, Paul (Sheila) Wishart of Gainesville, FL, Charles (Ornella) Wishart, Jr. of Leavittsburg, OH, and Douglas (Brenda) Wishart of Howland, OH; daughters, Sonia (Pete) Baca of Bristolville, OH, Linda Bunch of Youngstown, OH, Yvonne (David) Colley of Lordstown, OH, Denise (Keith) Phelps of Marissa, IL, Tina (Gerry) Whittaker of Newton Falls, OH, and Rosemarie (Jim) Roby of Champion, OH; 20 grandchildren & 21 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Wishart Sr. of Leavitttsburg, OH. He was preceded in death by parents, daughter Roberta Karnes, and three brothers- Edward, Jr., Buckley, and his twin brother Paul Wishart.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Thomas Baumgardner will officiate. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the funeral home. The Old Erie Lodge #3 will hold services at 5:45 PM. Interment will be in Lordstown Cemetery.
