Obituary:

Gene P. Fenton, 73 years old, of Cortland, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 8:40 PM at Cortland Health Care Center.

 

He was born December 20, 1935 in Vienna, Ohio, the son of late Emma Corlew Fenton and Jesse Eugene Fenton of Warren.

 

He was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Marines.

 

Gene established the Champion Horseshoe Club.

 

Other than his father, Jesse Eugene Fenton, other survivors include his brothers, Kenneth Fenton of Cortland and Robert Fenton of Warren; his sister, Arlene Buran of Mecca and his half brother, Martin Fenton of Farmington; two grandchildren and one  great grandchild.

 

Other than his mother, Gene was preceded in death by one brother, James Fenton and  his step daughter, Patty Fenton.

 

There will be no calling hours or services.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
