Zane L. Householder, 83, of Warren Township, died Monday, December 28, 2009 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born January 17, 1926 in Huntingdon, PA, a son of the late William Householder and the late Esther Drenning Householder.

Mr. Householder retired from GM Lordstown after many years of service as an assembly man. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy Seabees.

Zane was a member of the Warren Township Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion Post 699 Leavittsburg for 43 years, and volunteered his time at Bernards Nursery, where he was affectionately known as "grandpa".

His wife, Margaret Jean (Beaver) Householder, whom he married on October 31, 1947, preceded him in death February 14, 2005.

Surviving are his son, Terry (Karen) Z. Householder of Warren, OH; brother, Gary (Charlotte) Householder, PA; grandchildren, Kurt & Craig Householder and great-grandchildren, Zane & Addison Householder. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor James Dittmar will officiate. Military honors will be given following the service by the American Legion Trumbull County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 AM on Saturday. Interment will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery.
