William A. "Duke" Berry, Sr., 62, of Warren, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born May 27, 1947 in Beckley WV, a son of the late Arlie W. Berry and the late Lena Osborne Berry.
He was employed at Denman Tire for over 22 years and US Steel. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the Army.
William enjoyed fishing, hunting, Harley Davidson motorcycles and memorabilia. He also collected coins, knives, sport cards, and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He was the president of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club Warren Chapter, and was very active in organizing events to support the community.
William is survived by his wife, Brenda Berry, whom he married on April 1, 1979, daughter, Pamela (Eduardo) Santana of Loveland, CO; son, William "Bill" Berry of Loveland, CO, daughter, Melissa (Roland) Becker of Loveland, CO, son, Michael (Kendra) Berry of Loveland, CO, son, David Berry of Evans, CO, daughter, Tamika (fiancé John Malone) Berry of Warren, OH, son, William (fiancée Mandy Dilley) Berry Jr. of Warren, OH, sister, Rita Ball of Hubbard, OH, brother, James "Bo" (Debra) Berry of Lake Milton, OH, step-sister, Shirley Wilson of Warren, OH, 22 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and his life long best friends, John Jones & Russell Beatty.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step mother Dorothy Wix Berry and brothers Jess Berry and Fred Wix.
Services will be held at the Leavittsburg Church of God on Monday, January 25, 2010, at 11:00 AM, where Pastor Byron Powers will officate. Friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church on Monday.
Interment will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery.
