Obituary:

Vince Borton, 64 years old, of Niles, Ohio, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 2:55 PM at his home after a two and a half year battle with cancer.

 

He was born June 30, 1945 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Harold and Anne (nee Carl) Borton.

 

Vince was a 1963 Warren G. Harding High School graduate and worked in the Salvage Department at Lordstown GM for 41 years.

 

Vince was a motorcycle enthusiast, he enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading and socializing in taverns in the Warren and Niles area.

 

Survivors include his wife, the former, Donna Lou Vernon, whom he married on May 1, 2007; his daughter, Kelly Dava (Eric Hamer) Borton of Niles; his step-daughter, Jessica (Shawn) Boyd of Portage Lakes, OH; two grandchildren, Alex and Luke Boyd; one brother, Harold (Kristi) Borton of Clearwater, FL; three sisters, Dorcas Borton, Joyce (Darryl Lane) Mascarella and Veronica Borton all of Warren; his wife's parents, Lou and Marie Vernon of Myrtle Beach, SC; five sisters-in-law, Deborah (John) Remias of Canfield, Denise (Mike) Borlin of Olympia, WA,  Dorene Rush of Crydon, PA, Sherene Vernon of Champion and Michelle Miller of Cortland; his best friends, Tom and Ruth Reilly and Roger Mowen; several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews; and special thanks to his hospice nurse, Jerry.

 

Funeral services will be held at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home at 7:00 PM, Saturday, February 6, 2010 where family and friends may visit from 5-7 PM. Rev. Rick Oaks will officiate the service.

 

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.
