Miss A. Elaine Rinda, 78, of Warren, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Warren on July 14, 1931, the daughter of the late William H. and Hilda W. Weita Rinda.
She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and earned undergraduate degrees at Suomi College and Westminster College and a master's degree from Capital University. She was an elementary school teacher with the Warren City School District, spending most of her time at Emerson School until she retired in 1983.
She was a devoted member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church in Warren and a member of the AAUW.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, E. Jean Rinda MacKrell of Erie, PA.
Survivors include her brother-in-law, Joseph F. MacKrell, Sr. of Erie, PA; two nieces, Capt. Eileen F. MacKrell, U.S.N. of Washington, D.C., and Elizabeth MacKrell of Erie, PA; three nephews, William J. MacKrell and his wife Diane of Durham, N.C., Patrick J. MacKrell and his wife Linda of Austin, TX, and Joseph F. MacKrell and his wife Jane, of Highland, MD. She is further survived by her grand-nephews and niece, Michael MacKrell, Marguerite MacKrell, and Jonathan MacKrell, as well as several cousins.
The funeral will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Feb 16 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, with Pastor Wayne Sherman officiating. Friends may call at the church an hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
