Obituary:Florence T. Berg, age 96, of Austintown, Ohio, formerly of Lordstown, Ohio, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at noon at Humility House in Austintown.
She was born August 20, 1913 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late George F. and Mabelle Thayer Jones.
Florence was a graduate of Salem High School and Salem Nursing School and had worked at Salem Hospital, Trumbull Memorial Hospital, El Paso Health Department and Visiting Nurses of Trumbull County.
Mrs. Berg was a longtime member of the Lordstown Christian Church and her hobbies included playing cards, crocheting and puzzles books.
Florence is survived by her son, Lee (Ellen) Bertolette of Port Charlotte, FL; two daughters, Jacqueline (Richard) Heverly of Lordstown and Dolores (Dale) Bowersock of Salem; her brother, Maurice Jones of Paris, TN.
Seven grandchildren, Terri Sikora of Cincinnati, Sharon (Tyler) Sinn of Lordstown, Rachelle (Aaron) Turney of Warren, Robert Prokop of Southington, Rick (Tricia) Heverly of Lordstown, Tiffany (Jim) Lynch of Colorado and Kim (Chuck) Wethington of Kentucky.
Fifteen great grandchildren, Brandon Sinn of Columbus, Brittany Sinn of Indiana, Alexandra Sikora of Cincinnati, Briana Sinn of Lordstown, Tori and Samantha Heverly of Lordstown, Olivia Brown of Cincinnati, Ashley, Donovan and Sydney Turney of Warren, Evan Elmore of Colorado, Charlie and Isabella Wethington of Kentucky, Cassady and Travis Prokop of Southington and Nikki Bertolette of Pennsylvania.
Other than her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her two sisters, Verdi Harris and Marian E. Conkle; grandchildren, Tina and Rodney Bertolette; and former husbands, Roderick Bertolette and Charles Berg.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Bernard M. Oakes, presiding.
Family and friends may visit from 7-9 PM, Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the funeral home.
