Obituary:

Eddie B. Haynes, "Bee", age 69, of  Champion, Ohio, fell asleep in death on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 9:00 PM at his home.

 

He was born January 15, 1941 in Opelika, Alabama, the son of the late Dessie B. and Louise Spencer Haynes.

 

Bee was a graduate of the 1961 class of Warren G. Harding High School and was retired as a machinist from Copperweld Steel after 37 years of service.

 

Mr. Haynes enjoyed spending time with family and especially his grandchildren. His hobbies included customizing motorcycles and cars, watching boxing, basketball, football and baseball.

 

Bee was a member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association Ohio Chapter "I-2". He loved to ride his Gold Wing and Harley Davidson motorcycles.

 

Survivors include his wife, the former Essie M. Owens, whom he married on August 4, 1962; his son, Elgin D. Haynes of Columbus and his daughter, Erinika S. (Eric) Smith of Warren; his sister, Sarah Haynes of Austin, TX; his brother, Cedric (Gina) Haynes of Girard; four grandchildren, Dr. Dawsheen T. (Erica) Haynes of Haslet, TX, Eric J. Smith of Warren,  Elgin D. and Elijah D.  Haynes of Columbus; two great grandchildren, Dylan S. and Erin M. Haynes of Haslet, TX and many nieces and nephews.

 

Other than his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by two sisters, Joann Bryant and Ocie Pearl Blandon and two brothers, Robert C. and Cecil L. Haynes.

 

Funeral services will be held at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 7:00 PM, Mr. Edwin Harris will officiate.

 

Family and friends may visit from 4-7 PM, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the funeral home.

 

Entombment will be in Meadow Brook Memorial Park.
