Alfred "Al" Carrino, 90, of Conneaut, OH passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, with his family by his side at University Hospital in Cleveland.

Al was born January 13, 1928, in Akron, OH, and was a lifelong resident of the Buckeye State.

Al graduated from Ohio Northern University with a BS in Pharmacy and received his Masters in Education from Bowling Green State University. He practiced pharmacy for 56 years and was a teacher and coach for 31 years, eventually retiring from LaBrae High School in 1984. As a longtime football coach, Al coached at a number of high schools, as well as semi-pro football with the Youngstown Hard Hats, and at both Youngstown State University and Thiel College. His distinguished coaching legacy led to his induction into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Inducted in 1986, Al is also a member of the Ohio Northern University Hall of Fame.

He served honorably in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge.

Al is survived by his longtime companion and love of his life, April Muir of Conneaut, OH; children, Joyce (Jeff) Kish, Nick Carrino, Michael (Donna) Carrino, Aleene Carrino, John (Jennifer) Carrino and James (Debbie) Carrino; thirteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Tommasina Carrino; brother, Albert; and sisters, Toni Diana and Angie Galletta.

Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday January 4, 2019 at St. William Catholic Church, 5411 Mahoning Avenue, Warren, OH.

A Memorial Mass to follow at 5:00 PM on Friday, January 4, 2019.
