Lillian Elizabeth Girtz Brown, 89, of Warren, OH, formerly of Champion, passed away on February 27, 2019 at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. She was born on January 14, 1930 in Bellaire, OH, a daughter of Delbert and Edith (Pascal) Girtz. Lillian graduated from Bellaire High School, and on February 22, 1947, she married Walter L. Brown.

Lillian worked at Packard for 30 years before retiring. Her family became her life, and Lillian took great pride in her grandchildren. She and her husband, whom she loved very much, had 53 years of marriage together. Upon her husband’s passing, she began working at Giant Eagle in the Jamestown Shopping Village to keep herself busy, yet even so, she still remained the glue that held the family together. Lillian not only raised her own children, but she was also always there for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and was even able to enjoy the arrival of her first great, great grandchild.

Lillian enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, Sunday dinners with her family, and shopping. When she wasn’t working, you could find her with family members, often her grandchildren but mostly her great grandchildren. She loved watching them, taking them to and from school, to the doctors, out to eat, and especially shopping! She was always looking after her family, supporting them, and making them smile and laugh. Her love was apparent as she kept her family in line; even as grown adults.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Wayne (Patty) Brown, daughter, Sherry (Bud) Brown Conger, grandchildren, Ronald (Lizz) Eichelberger, Christina (Jeff) Davies, Denise Woodbury, Valerie (Christian) Bartholomew, Wayde Brown, and Benjamin (Amanda) Brown, great-grandchildren, Amanda (Justin), Jonathan, Hayley, CJ, Lexie, Aidan, Malek, Laylah, Sydney, Christian Jr., Luca, Adelina, and Mara, and also a great great grandchild, Braden. She was preceded in death by her son, Mike Brown, husband, Walter Lewis Brown, as well as her parents.
