Obituary

Vera J. Robinson, 95, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018, at her daughter's home in Canfield.

Vera was born November 9, 1922, in Southington, OH, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Edna (Leiby) Perks.

She graduated from Chalker High School, during which time Vera became an accomplished violin player and was honored to play in a local orchestra. After graduation, Vera began working at the Ravenna Arsenal. Upon her marriage to Maurice Robinson she was a homemaker in Braceville, where they raised their three daughters.

Every summer Vera raised a large vegetable garden and would can tomatoes, fruits and vegetable and make strawberry jam. She enjoyed baking, sewing, traveling, bowling, playing cards, family boating and camping in Pennsylvania.

After her children were grown, Vera went back to the work force and began her employment at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She worked for nearly 40 years in the Nutritional Services department and made many friends. Her pancakes and omelets were popular servings among the employees and visitors each morning, always greeting everyone with a smile. She enjoyed reminiscing with her friends throughout the hospital during post-retirement visits.

During her years at TMH, Vera continued her education at KSU Trumbull campus and earned her real estate license. She took great joy in meeting new people and assisting them in finding a new home. This accomplishment was a source of great pride for Vera and her family.

Vera's life was full and she worked hard for many years, but her greatest joy has always been her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her loving heart, her sweet smile, and complete devotion to her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Lee of Cortland, Ohio and Joyce (Joseph) Malagisi of Canfield, Ohio; grandchildren, Debbie, Mary, Kelly, Charles, Richard, Diana, Evan and Madison; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra J. Sudon; brother, Donald Perks; and sister, Donna Angel.

The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Vera's longtime physician Dr. Kapil Kwatra for his kindness and compassionate care over the years, and most recently, to all the staff at Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care they gave Vera.

Services will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery, Brookfield, Ohio.
