He was born January 5, 1929 in Parkman, a son of Ross and Minnie (Winterstein) Evans.
Ken was employed as a truck driver for the former Airco Trucking Co. in Warren for more than 20 years, retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1948-52.
He married the former Hannah H. Perry on November 28, 1953. They shared 63 years of marriage and many happy memories together. She survives him.
Ken was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He enjoyed tinkering around the house and he loved watching Westerns and listening to banjo music.
Besides his wife, Ken is survived by five children; Theresa (Joe) Cottle, of Braceville, Kenneth J. Evans (Phyllis Shepherd), of Leavittsburg, Rebecca Jean (Clark) Christy, of Leavittsburg, Daniel Evans, of Warren, and Maribeth (Rick) Whisonant, of Rock Hill, SC. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; Lyle, Ralph, Ray, Ross, and Vernon Evans; and two sisters; Barbara and Virginia.
Memorial services will be held 7 PM Monday, February 20th, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Ave., Warren.
Friends may call from 5 - 7 PM Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests material contributions be made to Hospice of The Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512, in Ken's memory.
