He was born April 10, 1930 in Warren, OH, a son of the late John Albert and Lottie (Klingeman) Carnahan. On February 1, 1957 he married Gail Osborne and they spent the last 62 wonderful years together.

Jack went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Korean War. After his military service, Jack began his teaching career at Warren City Schools where he was a Teacher and eventually Principal for over 35 years.

As a member of Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, Jack was on multiple committees and boards and was active in the church until he was unable. He was a member of the Elks, founding member of the Warren Sports Hall of Fame, longtime member of Ohio Education Association and Trumbull County Teachers Association. Jack was an avid walker, loved to golf and was a proud supporter of Warren G. Harding sports, the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
